Call for Art for Public Gallery

The Arts Council is calling for art for display in Palmer Lake.
No entry fees; art may be for sale.

Artists,  This is to inform you that we are taking submissions for the next round of the Public Gallery displays at the Palmer Lake Town Offices and Palmer Lake Library. Please submit images of your work to Dennis Book at denbook@comcast.net.

If your work is chosen, I will give you a Loan Agreement and Entry Form to fill out when you bring your work at the agreed upon time. Thanks for your interest in this project. The response has been very positive from folks who have viewed past displays.

Palmer Lake Arts Council is looking forward to an active year. We have adult and kid’s classes coming, a wood show, a fun fundraiser that will let you add to your art collection, another Shakespeare in the Park, a new kind of Chautauqua in August, and a Christmas play based on a local writer’s book. Beginning Watercolor Landscape Painting

Ages-6th grade thru adult
$200 session/$45 per drop in

Class will familiarize students with basic watercolor materials and equipment. Students will develop composition and color theory fundamentals of landscape painting. We will use a travel watercolor set so that students will be able to paint on location for assignments out of class and in the studio as practice. Students will develop landscape painting watercolor techniques using photo references in the classroom. The class will explore color mixing, color complements and color harmonies essential in successful landscape paintings. Each session we will have time for classroom instruction, painting exercises for visual accuracy, and group critiques.
