Zentangle began in 2014 by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. Rick was a long-time meditator and Maria a professional calligrapher. Together they came up with a way to teach a method of art that they could teach to anyone. This art form uses mostly black pen and white paper and branches into color with black, tan and gray paper along with colored gel pens, chalk pencils and even watercolor pencils. Zentangle can be very meditative and challenging enough to keep those brain cells working. For more info: https://zentangle.com/
Linda Close has held several different positions in the health and wellness field as a registered nurse since 1980. She began exploring alternative healthcare practices in 1990 including different forms of meditation along with qigong practice. Qigong is considered the mother of Tai Chi. It is a gentle meditative exercise form that has many benefits for mental, physical and spiritual health. Along the lines of health practices, Linda started exploring art as a meditation practice along with learning the skill set. In 2017 Linda started Zentangle as an art form and became CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher ) in 2019.
