2025 Chautauqua Headliner
Calvin Standing Bear
Calvin Standing Bear is a full-blooded Oglala/Sicangu Lakota from the Rosebud reservation of South Dakota. He is a talented flutist of traditional Lakota music and composer of contemporary Lakota Flute songs, which are richly grounded in the concept of spirituality. He is a singer of both traditional and spiritual Lakota songs. His many talents include mastery of the acoustic guitar.
Shakespeare in the Park
Shakespeare in the Park in Palmer Lake, hosted by the Palmer Lake Arts Counciltakes place at the Village Green on a specific date each year. For 2025, a Shakespeare on the Green event is scheduled for June 28th, featuring performances by Shakespeare players. The event is free, and attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets for seating.
Melodrama
Romance at the Chautauqua
The Palmer Lake Arts Council commissioned an original play which was performed at Palmer Lake Town Hall the first weekend in October, 2023. The play was written by Colorado Springs-based playwright Richard Sebastian-Coleman. The play is a melodrama which follows the character Ada Lucille Thompson, the daughter of Palmer Lake founder and first mayor Dr. William Finley Thompson, who in real life mysteriously

Palmer Lake Comedy Show
Our first comedy show featured Ben Roy and Andrew Orvendahl. Ben Roy, who’s been taking comedy audiences by storm since 2004, brought an unparalleled energy and unique voice to the stage. Andrew is a comedian from Denver, Colorado who has performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon as well as on Comedy Central.
